Do you offer a lifetime membership?
Yes, the Grand Lodge of Ohio offers a lifetime or endowed membership to those members who have committed a donation of $800, plus at least one year’s annual dues.
Any Master Mason in good standing can become an endowed member. The endowment fee is deposited with the Grand Lodge and the income from the endowment is paid annually to the lodge. An endowed membership is, in effect, a perpetual gift to the lodge because the fee will be paid to the lodge in perpetuity, even after the member is deceased.
A member may also purchase an endowed membership to honor someone—male or female—who has special meaning to the purchaser, or in memory of someone who has passed away. It is common to honor distinguished service by purchasing an endowed membership for that person. Other Masons have purchased endowed memberships as memorials to a father, brother, uncle, wife, or mother.
How it works:
- Fill out the form on Grand View under the Resources tab.
- Send the completed form and a check for $800 payable to your home lodge to your Lodge secretary by August 31st.
- Upon receiving the form and check, your Lodge secretary will bill you once more for your annual dues while your Endowed Membership funds are invested and accrue interest.
- The following year, and each year thereafter, your Lodge secretary will send you a Membership Renewal Notice stating that you don’t owe dues.
