How do I join a local lodge?
Candidates must meet some pre-qualifications. Then, they submit a petition for membership in a local lodge, and they are investigated to determine if they are qualified. Finally, they must be elected by a unanimous vote.
If you know someone who is a Mason, tell him of your interest in joining. He can answer your questions or put you in touch with those who can. If he thinks you will make a good Mason, he will help you through the process of meeting members of the lodge and submitting a petition. In effect, he will be acting as your sponsor.
If you do not know a Mason in your area, you can submit an inquiry through our application system. Your inquiry will then be referred to your local lodge or district. A representative of the lodge will call you to discuss your interest in becoming a Freemason and the next steps in the process. If you would like to join, complete the online form.
