What town do you live in?
I currently reside in Northwood, Ohio.
Which Lodge do you belong to?
I belong to Genoa Lodge #433.
What is your profession?
I’m an Airline Captain for Spirit Airlines
How long have you been a Freemason? When did you first join?
I received my EA Degree on November 15th, 2011 and I had the honor to be the Inspection Candidate, MM Degree in January 2012 for Genoa Lodge #433.
Why inspired you to become a Mason?
My neighbor MIGM Douglas A. Habegger and my Grandfather Brother Simon Wohl from Peoria, Illinois were my biggest inspirations for becoming a member of the Craft.
What does being a Freemason mean to you?
Being a Freemason simply means completeness in my life; the missing link that I knew existed and was fortunate to find.
What is the most important thing you’ve learned or gained through Ohio Freemasonry?
The friendship is without a doubt the largest asset I have gained through Freemasonry.
Surprisingly, the growth of my internal self, applying the core values and principles of the Craft on a daily basis has grown me into who I am today. A better man, husband, father, friend and Brother.
How do you remain mindful of Masonic values in your day-to-day life?
I remain mindful of my day-to-day Masonic values in two easy ways. I pray and meditate on a daily basis, focusing on those important values in my life, and I look for ways to make them a reality.
What is one piece of advice you would give to a new Mason?
Get ready for the ride of your life. Remember that change – true change – can only happen from within. Search, study and live the principles of our Craft and your life will change for the better.
What are your goals/aspirations within the Craft?
Apply and live the lessons I have learned from the Craft on a daily basis; I will be a better Brother, a better Husband, a better Father a better Leader and a better Friend.
